Royal Society of London Publishing

Founded in 1660 by Sir Christopher Wren, the Royal Society of London’s mission has been to continuously recognize, promote and support excellence in science and to encourage its development and use for benefit of humanity. Our motto of ‘Nullius in verb’ taken to mean ‘take nobody’s word for it’ is a testament to our commitment to withstand the domination of authority and to verify all statements by an appeal to facts determined by experiment. Our work stems from numerous scientific fields including, but not limited to, biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, and medicine. Our commitment to quality research has produced such revolutionary works such as Sir Isacc Isaac Newton’s Principia Mathematica, Benjamin Franklin’s kite experiment demonstrating the electrical nature of lightning and the first ever report in English of the inoculation against disease to name a few. Today we are the UK’s national science academy, boasting a fellowship of some 1,600 of the world’s most eminent scientists and we remain committed to publishing the best that the scientific community has to offer.
