S079: Into the Great Wide Open: Licensing, Vendor Relations, and Data Security During "Interesting Times"
Ask not for whom the bot behind a geographically-unusual IP tolls. In the age of Sci-Hub, it tolls for thee. This practical, foundation-level presentation will discuss the areas of intersection between licensing, vendor relations, and the successful resolution of incidents of prohibited use of content and their associated IP blocks.

Following this session, participants will be able to recognize and favorably negotiate key license terms relating to sharing and access of resources and data privacy, work with vendors in a productive manner to resolve incidents of prohibited use, such as excessive downloading and its oft-accompanying IP block, to both parties’ mutual satisfaction.
