Kansas State University
Associate Professor & Department Head
Manhattan, Kansas

I am a STEM Librarian and a member of the AI Steering Group at Kansas State University Libraries. In the former role I serve as a liaison to K-State's Division of Biology and departments of Civil Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Geology, Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering, and Statistics. In the latter role I develop and deliver AI workshops on a variety of topics including discovery via AI, text-generation, and image generation. I also coordinate K-State Libraries' AI Working Group for Bias, Ethics, and Accessibility, and am a member of our AI Literacy Working Group. I am deeply interested in digital and information literacy in the context of AI, both as it relates to disciplinary communication and discovery, but also as it pertains to consumption and participation in social media.
